As an accredited agent of Virgin Oil Company (Mauritius) Ltd, PetrA arranges debunkering and deslopping services at quayside and anchorage in Mauritius, using specialised transfer equipment and handling procedures suited to each operation.

Through Virgin Shipping Company Ltd, Virgin Oil’s sister company, PetrA has access to MT VIRGIN 1 for marine collection operations.

Debunkering

The removal and transfer of bunker fuel from a vessel, including off-specification or non-compliant fuel.

From enquiry to recovery ashore

Enquiry & acceptance

Send the vessel, location (quay or anchorage), timing, and the type and estimated volume of material. Acceptance is subject to waste acceptance criteria, operational conditions and approvals.

Collection

MT VIRGIN 1 collects at anchorage or alongside, using transfer equipment and handling procedures suited to the operation.

Treatment ashore

Collected materials go to Virgin Oil’s Montagne Blanche facility for assessment, treatment and recovery, in line with Mauritian requirements and relevant MARPOL provisions.

Double-hull collection and response tanker

Built in 2022, MT VIRGIN 1 is a Mauritius-flagged, double-hull motor tanker with Bureau Veritas classification. Twin engines, a bow thruster and shallow draught support manoeuvrability.

Services include containment and recovery of floating oil, transfer of sludge and oily water, tank-cleaning support and emergency lightering. Deployment depends on operating conditions and required approvals.

Off-spec product purchase

We buy difficult-to-handle fuels

PetrA purchases bulk off-specification petroleum products, including tank bottoms and other difficult-to-handle fuels.

We trade in small and large batches and arrange collection from international ports, subject to product assessment, local approvals and logistical feasibility.
