ProductsBase oils, fuels & marine biofuels
PetrA supplies base oils, lubricants and fuels for a range of industrial and marine applications. Product selection depends on the agreed specification, intended use and equipment requirements.
The foundation of lubricants
Base oils are the primary components of lubricant formulations. Together with suitable additives, they help reduce friction and protect mechanical components. Finished-lubricant performance depends on the complete formulation and operating conditions.
Base oil SN 150
A lower-viscosity base oil commonly used in hydraulic fluids, light industrial lubricants and metalworking fluids. It is suited to formulations requiring good fluidity and a lighter viscosity profile.
- Typical usesHydraulic fluids, light industrial lubricants, metalworking fluids
Base oil SN 500
A higher-viscosity base oil used in automotive and industrial lubricant formulations, including engine and gear oils. It can be blended with other base oils and additives to achieve the required viscosity and performance characteristics.
- Typical usesEngine oils, gear oils, industrial lubricants
Residual fuels to ISO 8217
Marine fuel specifications are agreed by grade with reference to the applicable edition of ISO 8217 and supporting product documentation. The cSt designation refers to kinematic viscosity; the applicable test temperature and limits are defined in the agreed specification.
LSFO 200 cSt
A residual fuel offered with a maximum sulphur content of 1.0% by mass. It provides a lower-sulphur option than traditional high sulphur fuel oil and is intended for suitable industrial and power-generation applications, as well as permitted marine uses.
At 1.0% sulphur, this grade exceeds the IMO global marine fuel sulphur limit of 0.50%. Marine use therefore requires an approved equivalent compliance arrangement, such as an exhaust gas cleaning system, subject to applicable operating restrictions.
- Sulphur1.0% m/m max
- ApplicationsIndustrial, power generation, permitted marine uses
VLSFO 180 cSt
A residual marine fuel offered with a maximum sulphur content of 0.50% by mass. It is used for marine bunkering and can also serve suitable industrial and power-generation applications.
A finished fuel meeting this sulphur limit satisfies the global marine sulphur requirement without a scrubber.
- Sulphur0.50% m/m max
- ApplicationsMarine bunkering, industrial, power generation
B30 marine fuel blends
PetrA’s B30 marine fuel blends combine approximately 30% biodiesel, consisting of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), with 70% conventional marine fuel. The blend basis and final properties are defined in the agreed product specification.
Virgin Oil has manufactured B30 VLSFO and B30 LSMGO since August 2026 under controlled blending conditions and quality-assurance procedures.

B30 VLSFO 180 cSt
Approximately 30% FAME with 70% very low sulphur fuel oil, formulated for a maximum sulphur content of 0.50%. The renewable component can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional fossil VLSFO, and offers a way to introduce renewable content through compatible liquid-fuel systems.
B30 LSMGO
Approximately 30% FAME with 70% low sulphur marine gas oil. As with B30 VLSFO, its renewable content can lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions relative to the corresponding fossil fuel.
Biofuel quality
B30 blends are specified with reference to the applicable requirements of ISO 8217:2024, with EN 14214 as the specified quality standard for the FAME component.
